Last week, the new Chabad House in Eilat, which will be run under the auspices of the city’s central Chabad House, was dedicated. The new Chabad House is run by shliach Rabbi Mendy Klein
In the same week, contractor Yossi Avrahami, who builds luxury residences and holiday apartments around Israel, held a similar ceremony. Mr. Avrahami has contributed towards the construction of many shuls and public buildings and he even “donated” an extra floor to the Chabad House in Eilat. He also renovated the shul in Bombay.
Mr. Avrahami’s dedication ceremony for a selection of new buildings was attended by various leading economic magnates, MKs, ministers, and IDF brass, whom he even flew down to Eilat.
The biggest surprise was when Mr. Avrahami unveiled the new shul included within his latest projects, equipped with the most beautiful furnishings. The Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi Yona Metzger was given the honor of putting up the mezuzah on the front door, after which shliach and Chief Rabbi of the Shachmon neighborhood Rabbi Shimon Eisenbach officially dedicated the shul. Rabbi Eisenbach will be running the shul, mostly during the tourist season, when the owners of the apartments will spend time there.
This is only one of the shuls run by shluchim in Eilat and used for spreading Chassidus.
Among those present at this special event was local Chief Rabbi Yosef Hecht.
